MQTT Disconected when app not in foreground

Just started using the app on Android 12 the MQTT connection is disconnected when launching the app and needs the status switching to disabled then enabled to start the connection.

This seems to be every time the app is not in the foreground, MQTT becomes disconnected and remains disconnected even though status is still enabled. It kicks back to life by disabling the status radio button and re enabling

There is a set of permissions to configure below:

To enable background updates

Thank you, I thought I’d set everything but I’d missed one of the settings

Unfortunately after a bit mqtt is having to be disabled/enabled still to reconnect

It should reconnect automatically when the OS enables it.
How do you check if the broker receives messages ?

MQTT Explorer my phone disappears from the active list, it stops sending data as soon as my phone screen goes dark and never reconnects. I’ve tried having my phone on charge.

Also I have a BM2 that it never finds, but it comes up in the section were you can black list stuff

It will not continue to send data permanently, you could try to let it for several hours and check your history in MQTT explorer. Mine send data every hour.

BM2 is not compatible with the Theengs App

Ah ok thanks, the app certainly has promise, I hope one day to feed BT data back to my Home Assistant setup using it when I’m out and about. I will just wait until hopefully the app is more mature. I will see how it goes. Thank you for the speedy responses
