Recommended hardware for a bluetooth temp/humidity/lux sensor?

Any suggestions for some of these devices? I see quite a few advertised well under $10. Are they any good?

Which ones do you see, and are they in the compatible BLE devices list?

If they are not in the list it might still be possible to create a new decoder for them, if they send useful decodable data in their BLE advertising broadcasts.

I checked the list, and looked at the " Xiaomi LYWSD03MMC"
It seems to be pretty common that manufacturers seem to actively try to break any third party firmware replacements. I wondered if there was a trick, or if it was just a crap shoot

That one is very popular, yes, and the preferred 3rd party firmware looks to be PVVX.

Best to look at the firmware page about any questions regarding the several hardware revisions.

It does not, however, have a lux sensor.
