is it possible to use OMG to detect smartphones in a range? I don’t know why my phones BT MAC is not visible in the mqtt explorer. I use android phone.
Hi, most modern phone OSs use continously randomised MAC addresses, just for the reason you want it for, to avoid phone tracking everywhere else like shops, restaurants etc… For your personal tracking you can install a beacon app on your phone, which is also referenced here
For similar reasons I went with some small hardware beacons, which I attach to my key ring.
