Theengs Bridge as Home Assistant proxy?

I have a Nuki door lock which can be configured to connect to Home Assistant over Bluetooth via Homekit. Unfortunately, its MQTT support is rudimentary, and crucially for a door lock, doesn’t support TLS or anything. So, I’m looking for alternate approaches. Can the Bridge do this, or is it the Wrong Tool for The Job?
