Important: Changes to Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates

Due to GitHub’s root certificate changes, the OTA update mechanism for versions prior to 1.8.0 is no longer functional. We’ve relocated the OTA server outside of GitHub for better certificate management.

Update Options

  1. Use the Web Installer (recommended)
  2. Manual Binary Update:
  • Download from Releases page the binary corresponding to your board
  • Clear flash memory using one of these methods:
    • Theengs products: Long press the button (refer to the Theengs Plug or Bridge documentation)
    • Home Assistant: Use “Erase credentials” command
    • MQTT: Send an erase command
  • Update via WiFiManager
  1. PlatformIO Update:
  • Connect via USB cable
  • Or use local OTA
