Victron Charges/Battery Monitor

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has successfully used the OMG to monitor any Victron devices via their Bluetooth connection? I have an Orion DC charger and a Battery Protect. Would be nice to be able to monitor the voltage of my leisure battery

Cheers

Hi @geekydrewbie,

I’m sure you have searched the forum for other Victron threads, and found

which states it might e possible to decrypt encrypted encoded BLE advertising broadcasts with Theengs Gateway, if the encryption key is known, OR use OpenMQTTGateway’s connection READ functionality to read GATT service/char from the devices if enabled, as stated in the last post.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks @DigiH . I did come across that , but will check it again. I do have the encryption keys for the devices..I will do some reading up on how to decrypt and I assume adding new devices to the config.

Kepp in mind that decryption would only currently work with Theengs Gateway, and only once we’d have created a decoder for it together by analysing the broadcast data together.

Connection reading the service/char however only works with OpenMQTTGateay.
